Although I don’t agree with censorship, it makes sense that Nintendo needs to consider cultural differences when bringing Japanese products to the west. Some of the young females in the Japanese version of Bravely Default show a lot of revealing clothing, and Nintendo decided to make some minor changes to their outfits in the western version. In addition, Nintendo raised the ages of the girls so the sexy costumes wouldn’t come off as creepy to westerners.
As you can see from the screenshots below, the less revealing outfits are on the left (western version) while the skimpier outfits are on the right (Japanese version).
The altercations to the costumes seem pretty minimal (and nothing to be upset about), but it’s still interesting to see some of the differences between the two versions.
