Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning told Eurogamer that “Oddworld: New & Tasty”, a remake of 1997’s “Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee,” will be priced at $30 (around £18). The game would need to sell 500,000 copies to help fund an original Oddworld game. Lanning says that the budget for most indie games is normally around $100,000, and the budget for “New & tasty” is nearly $5 million in comparison. Two million dollars of that budget is coming out of Lanning’s pocket, and the other three million dollars are from previous studio assets. The game is currently planned for release on Windows, Linux, OS X, PlayStation Network, and Wii U.
